Euros: Day 8 – Two of My Favorites
Sorry for the short coverage today. I’ve been focusing on trying to get coverage for the days where the games are at the same time. I succeeded for today’s games and tomorrow’s game. I’m still waiting on people for Monday and Tuesday. Let me know if you’d like to join up!
Ukraine v. France (0-2)
This game definitely did not look like the sunny days I experienced in Sweden. The game kicked off on time, but was quickly suspended due to lightning. France finally looking like the group leader I predicted.
England v. Sweden (3-2)
I always cheer for England, except when they play the US, Sweden or Ireland. Alas, another day of depression as my two favorite Euro teams go out before even the third round of games.
As I mentioned before, I got rid of the two Swedish midfielders I had on my team. I had heard rumor that Larsson might be dropped, but it turns out that was not the case. Lustig and Ola Toivonen were dropped, as well as Markus Rosenberg. Rosenberg did end up coming on late.
While I believed England would win, the Swedish press was confident. That confidence was not well placed. The game was not as rosey as that day in Malmö
I don’t know why Tiger has an “E” by his name, but he’s currently tied for first.
